This 8-day tour takes you on a journey through Morocco’s imperial cities and the Sahara Desert, blending history, culture, and adventure. Starting in Marrakech, you’ll explore the modern city of Casablanca, the coastal capital of Rabat, and the rich heritage of Meknes and Fes. The journey then leads to the breathtaking Sahara Desert, where you will ride camels across the golden dunes of Merzouga and experience a night in a traditional Berber camp. The adventure continues through the spectacular Todra Gorges, the cinematic landscapes of Ouarzazate, and the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, before returning to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains.
This itinerary provides an immersive cultural, historical, and natural experience, making it ideal for travelers looking to discover the best of Morocco in just over a week.
Day1 : Casablanca -meknes - fes .
Start the best of Morocco Tours Imperial Cities and Desert tour. Upon your arrival or pick up you at your hotel in Casablanca. We will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the landmark of Casablanca which is the only mosque open for non-Muslims. The Hassan II Mosque will be the first introduction of Moorish influences in Morocco. It is built by the king Hassan II between 1987-1993. Over 25 thousand worshipers can pray inside and 80 thousand worshipers pray outside in the big square of the mosque. We travel to Rabat visit some historical site like Chellah lovely spot in Rabat where you see a breathtaking combination of Roman and Merinid remains. You have the unfinished mosque Tower Hassan and the piece of art mausoleum Mohamed 5th to visit. After the tour of Rabat we move to the next city Meknes. It was built by the sultan Moulay Ismail in the 18th century, famous of beautiful gates, mosques and madrasas. And continue driving to fes .

Today, I after your breakfast , join a local guide for a captivating exploration of the vibrant city of Fes. Commence your journey at the Royal Palace, and then traverse through the historic Mellah, or Jewish Quarter. From there, ascend one of the Borj towers for a sweeping panoramic view of the entire medina. Following this, proceed to a mosaic-adorned house for a demonstration showcasing the traditional pottery techniques employed by skilled Fassi artisans.
Subsequently, your tour will lead you into the heart of Fes' medina. Stroll through its ancient lanes and neighborhoods, immersing yourself in its diverse artisan districts, including the renowned tanneries. Along the way, you'll pass by significant historical landmarks such as the Tomb of Idriss II and the Al-Qarawaiyin University, the world's oldest continuously operational university. The tour concludes after lunch, leaving you with the remainder of the day to explore at your leisure.
Early morning . We are going to leave the medieval Fes and heading to another part of Morocco. Crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop for a short break in Ifrane or the small Switzerland where is the first ski resort in Morocco. We will be surrounded by amazing sceneries and landscapes of mountains and plains. A special species of native monkeys living in cedar woods, over 30 members of one family called Maggot monkeys in Azrou. We will have lunch break in Midelt, it celebrates the festival of apples every years. There is a big contrast of landscapes especially when we drive through Ziz valley to get us to Erfoud, the gate of the Sahara, to Erg Chebbi Merzouga camel ride and overnight in berber camp.

Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the Sahara dunes, a truly unforgettable moment. After breakfast, return by camel or 4x4 to Merzouga village, where your driver will be waiting. The journey continues north towards Erfoud, a town famous for its fossils and date market.From here, you’ll drive to Tinghir to visit the spectacular Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs rise nearly 300 meters high. After a walk in the gorge, continue to the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations and kasbahs. Dinner and overnight in a hotel overlooking the valley.
Today is dedicated to discovering the beauty of the Dades Valley. In the morning, explore the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and enjoy a walk through Berber villages surrounded by lush fields. This region is rich in history and traditional mud-brick kasbahs that reveal Morocco’s architectural heritage.In the afternoon, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy the dramatic scenery of the valley. You may also take optional hikes or visit local cooperatives that produce rosewater and other traditional crafts. Dinner and overnight in the Dades Valley for a second night.
After breakfast, depart the Dades Valley and head towards Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa” for its film studios and desert landscapes. Stop to visit the Kasbah Taourirt, once home to the powerful Glaoui family, before continuing towards Ait Ben Haddou.Explore the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village that has featured in many films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. From here, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (~2,260 m) with panoramic views before descending into Marrakech for overnight.
Today is the red marrakech city tour.After breakfast, meet a local guide for a grand tour of Marrakech. Visit some of the city's most important sights, such as the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Ben-Yousef Madrassa and/or the Koutoubia Mosque. In between, you will meander through the labyrinthine souks of Marrakech, where you can observe various artisans practicing their craft.
At the end of the tour, you can spend the rest of the day exploring on your own.
The departure it’s depend on your flight time is . And When you are ready you will have a transfer to the airport of Marrakech Menara or Casablanca Mohamed V airport , and it will be the end of this magical and best of morocco imperial cities and desert tour .
