Morning:
8:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Departure from Marrakech
– Begin your journey from Marrakech early in the morning. The drive to Imlil takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, passing through the plains and foothills of the Atlas Mountains. During the drive, you will enjoy stunning views of the mountainous landscapes.
8:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Scenic Drive Through the Atlas Mountains
– As you drive through the Ourika Valley and towards Imlil, you’ll pass through small Berber villages, terraced fields, and winding mountain roads. The scenery is spectacular, so keep your camera handy to capture the stunning vistas of the High Atlas.
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Arrival in Imlil Village
– Upon arrival in Imlil, you’ll be welcomed by the majestic Atlas Mountains. The village is surrounded by terraced fields, apple orchards, and traditional Berber houses. It’s a peaceful and picturesque location perfect for relaxing and enjoying the mountain air.

10:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Explore Imlil Village

– Visit the local cafes and enjoy a traditional Moroccan mint tea while soaking in the mountain atmosphere.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Short Hike Around Imlil
– For those who enjoy hiking, Imlil offers several short treks. You can embark on a guided hike to the nearby Sidi Chamharouch Shrine (a Berber holy site), which takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Along the way, you’ll pass through apple orchards and traditional Berber villages, with stunning views of the mountains.
Alternatively, you can take a short walk around the village to admire the scenery and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Optional Trek to Toubkal Refuge (For Adventurous Travelers)
– If you’re feeling adventurous and up for a longer trek, you can take a more strenuous hike to the Toubkal Refuge, which is around 3-4 hours one way. This is a great option for those wanting to get closer to Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa.
However, if you’re on a day trip, it’s better to opt for shorter hikes or enjoy the village atmosphere instead.
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Relax and Enjoy the Views
– After your activities, take some time to relax. You can enjoy the mountain views, take some photos, or simply rest and enjoy the fresh air in the peaceful village of Imlil.

Return to Marrakech:
4:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Drive Back to Marrakech
– Begin your return journey to Marrakech. The drive will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, passing through the picturesque Ourika Valley and winding mountain roads once again.
5:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Arrival in Marrakech
– You will arrive back in Marrakech by late afternoon or early evening, around 5:30 PM or 6:00 PM, marking the end of your excursion to Imlil.
